Mateo & co

Established in 2000, Mateo&Co is a leading specialist consultancy in the area of strategic marketing and branding for food and restaurant sector. It develops branding and communication strategies for some of the best-known companies in the world of food and drink. It became part of Vocento in October 2020, strengthening the group’s gastronomy division.

A supporter of new chefs and premium projects, Mateo&Co works with prestigious chefs to build their personal brands, internationalise and develop their restaurant businesses and concepts. Clients include Eneko Atxa and his restaurant Azurmendi (with three Michelin stars), Ángel León and Aponiente (also three Michelin stars), and many others.

Mateo&Co also works with major brands who want to position themselves in the gastronomy space and explore the sector. The consultancy represents and organises large national and international gastronomical events, partnering with prestigious brands such as Michelin España & Portugal, the Institute of Masters of Wine, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants and the International Wine Challenge Merchants Awards.

The consultancy’s own projects include MadrEAT, Spain’s first street food event. In 2016, the #InResidence initiative brought to Madrid the Alinea restaurant and chef Grant Achatz from Chicago, followed by #ColombiaInResidence with four Colombian chefs from Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants. In 2018 it was the turn of Casa Marcial and Mirazur (named the best restaurant in the world). Ana Ros, the best female chef in the world (2017) and number 38 in The World’s 50 Best ranking, was the star in 2019.
