Terrae

Terrae is an international fair for rural gastronomy. For three days more than 32 chefs from various countries (with a total of 32 Michelin stars) shared their experiences, concerns and projects and spoke in defence of the role of rural restaurants as centres of life in the country and as generators of income and employment.

The fair started life in 2019 with the aim of serving as a platform which gives visibility to chefs in unpopulated rural areas and offers them support and helping to develop tourism and village life and to combat rural depopulation.

The event aims to improve connections between producers, their products, chefs and cooks, and to stimulate debate about the need to protect local products and market them without red tape. The first edition culminated in the publication of the Zafra Manifesto in defence of rural cuisines, which will be distributed to the European Parliament.
