Las Provincias
In its 150 years of life, Las Provincias has been a leading platform for the city of Valencia and the aspirations of its people and its middle classes and an advocate of a Spanish Mediterranean identity alien to peripheral nationalisms. With an editorial focus that is committed to innovation and to local coverage, the newspaper has contributed to the dynamism of the community, to legal order and to social reform.
Las Provincias has played a major role in various historic events, including the return to the city of the lands of la Albufera, the environmental preservation of the Saler, the naming of Mare de DĆ©u as patron of Valencia, and the green corridor created in the former basin of the Turia.
Six print editions contribute to this collective effort, in Valencia, LāHorta, La Marina, La Safor, La Ribera-La Costera-La Canal de NavarrĆ©s and Alicante, supported by the real-time information of lasprovinciais.es, by coverage for mobile phones, and by the distribution of content from the newspaper for followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
